The absolute #1 way to increase your speaking business is to have a great speech. Nothing else really matters if your speech needs work.
Most of the speakers I coach want to improve, so I ask to look at their speech first. This is where we begin 99% of the time. Because this is all that matters.
So if you're already out there speaking but not getting spin-off and referral speaking business, then that's a good indicator to work on your speech a bit. You need to make it better, respectfully.
Every time I speak, if I don't funnel more speaking business then "I" didn't speak good enough. I don't blame my audience. I, myself, look inward.
However, when I keynote and have a line of people waiting to talk with me afterward, then I know I nailed it.
When I have numerous emails thanking me, I know I nailed it.
When I look at my website and have 100 visits and/0r 100 new subscribers, then I know I nailed it.
When I have more speaking inquiries after I speak, then I know I nailed it.

Because for speakers, the "product" of their business is the value and quality of their speech. The speaker is only the messenger. (note: this took me 5 years to figure out ... and the hard way!)
