How to get the speaking gig using pitch video!

Recently a speakers bureau reached out to me about availability & pricing to speak for a major trade association's annual conference.

The bureau representative asked if I could put together a short, customized video to help differentiate my proposal and stand out amongst the other speakers being considered for the same keynote slot.

I recall them saying, "Kevin, lots of speakers are pitched for this event. However, the speaker most often selected is the one who stands out in the selection process. So put together a pitch video for us and we'll take it from there."

Not even one week after I sent them the video, I received confirmation for a 5-figure speaking contract.

The video I'm sharing with you below is that same pitch video. As you'll see, I intentionally wanted the beginning to be "organic" and personable. I then transitioned the video into a "bureau-friendly" version of my demo video.

But before you watch the video, just keep in mind how important good video is as speakers. Speakers must be open to learning how to use video in different ways for their speaking business - pitch videos, welcome videos, demo videos, etc.

Don't be intimidated though. I can talk you through some ideas and explore how to make it work for you too --- even if you have no video right now. I can also share my video templates with you and connect you with professional videographers and video editing pros who've helped me.

Having great video is the #1 requirement for having a consistent and successful speaking business.

If you don't have video, let's talk.

In a recent post, I shared tips on how to use a customized welcome video to substantially boost your speaking fee. Click here to review those tips and watch my sample customized video. You'll be potentially leaving thousands on the table if you're not currently offering video as an add-on with your speaking contracts.

Keep in mind there are lots of strategies to apply to not only get selected as the speaker for any event, but also to get higher feeds by adding additional video.
