3 tips for starting a massive speaking business

Whether you are just exploring, just starting off, or you're wanting to get more PAID speaking engagements at higher levels, I have a few tips for you that I wish I knew when I first started.

Successful speakers know who they are and they have confidence in their content, delivery and style.

These three "things" - content, delivery, and style - will also differentiate you as a speaker and leave a byproduct of success.

Most aspiring speakers I talk to seem more focused on the famous speaker they desire to be rather than first knowing who they are. They want to speak, but they don't yet have a style, unique delivery, and/or content that truly differentiates them.

Meeting planners and event organizers don't want a "vanilla" speaker who doesn't stand out and is average. They want someone who will swirl things up with hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream, nuts, and a cherry on top - masterfully!

So here are 3 quick tips to help you not just differentiate yourself, but also become very clear on how you want to leverage that even further in your programs, marketing and conversations.

1. Know how you want to help your audience. More specifically, know what problem you will help them solve. You're the messenger helping them solve that problem - or problems. Click here for an example.

2. Attend conferences in your target industry. Study them in advance and onsite. Study the agenda. Take notes on presentation titles. Become crystal clear on the issues facing that industry. Take notes, more notes and more notes until you are crystal clear on exactly how you can help them solve those issues. Click here for an example.

3. Watch and study other speakers. Watching other speakers is likely what helped me more than anything. I watched GREAT speakers, and I watched HORRIBLE speakers. If you read the Preface in my book, PAID to SPEAK, you know it's watching speakers at one particular conference that changed my life.

Also, below are upcoming speaking gigs I have which I am inviting you to go "behind-the-scenes" with me to watch and study everything I do. I reserve these seats for my speaker coaching clients, but if any seats are available, then they will have your name on them. First come, first reserve!

If I'm in your area below, contact me for the event you'd like to attend. BE ADVISED THOUGH ... you will need to show up when I show up and you can't leave until I leave. I want you to feel the full experience!

Wherever you are in your speaking journey, don’t feel overwhelmed. In my blog about "Advice I'd Give My Younger Self," I reveal how a speaking mentor changed my life. He helped me feel not alone starting off. He helped me focus so I could follow a process.

Whether you're making sushi, selling real estate, or speaking, all successful businesses require that you follow a process (that works!).

If you feel I can help and guide you to get to where you want to be, I’m a simple email away. Contact me by emailing Kevin@KevinCSnyder.com and we can set up a complimentary coaching call to discuss your speaking goals.

I wish you speaking success!
